Media Creation Tool

Il y a deux façons de mettre à jour Windows vers Windows 10 :
1 — Utiliser Windows Update (voir page précédente)
2 — Utiliser l’outil de création de média : Media Creation Tool

En cas de problème, on peut également réinstaller Windows 10 par dessus lui-même en créant un support d’installation avec Media Creation Tool

Media Creation Tool est une application qui offre trois possibilités :
— installer Windows 10 directement,
— créer une image ISO de Windows 10
— créer un support d’installation de Windows 10 sur clé USB

On peut utiliser Media Creation Tool si on a des problèmes avec Windows Update.
En fait, l’installation avec Media Creation Tool sera, en tous les cas, plus rapide qu’avec Windows Update.

Si vous devez installer ou réinstaller Windows 10 à l’aide d’une clé USB ou d’un DVD, nous vous conseillons d’utiliser l’outil de création de supports ci-dessous afin de créer votre propre support d’installation, avec une clé USB ou un DVD. L’outil fournit des formats de fichiers optimisés pour la vitesse de téléchargement et pouvant être utilisés pour la création de fichiers ISO.

Après téléchargement :
— lancer MediaCreationTool

— cliquer sur Accepter :

2 — Que voulez-vous faire ?

On a le choix entre :
— Installer Windows 10 sur l’ordinateur,
— créer un support d’installation (sur clé USB ou DVD) pour installer Windows 10 sur un autre ordinateur.

PS : Si on choisit de créer un support d’installation (clé USB ou DVD), il faudra démarrer l’ordinateur sur ce support d’installation. Voir, pour info :

— sélectionner «Créer un support d’installation pour un autre PC»
— cliquer sur Suivant

PS : Si on choisi «Mettre à niveau ce PC maintenant», l’installation commence.

3 — Sélectionner la langue, l’architecture et l’édition :

Si on a choisi «Créer un support pour un autre PC» :

On peut :
— décocher «Utiliser les options recommandées pour ce PC»
(pour choisir la version de Windows 10 à télécharger si elle est différente de l’ordinateur avec lequel on utilise Media Creation Tool ou pour créer un support universel (32 et 64 bits)

On peut ensuite :
— sélectionner l’édition (Windows 10 ou Windows 10 N)
— sélectionner l’architecture (32 bits, 64 bits ou «Les deux» pour créer un support universel)

— cliquer sur Suivant

4 — Choisir le média à utiliser :

— sélectionner le média à utiliser : disque mémoire flash USB ou fichier ISO
— cliquer sur Suivant

Si on choisit «Disque mémoire flash USB» il faudra insérer une clé USB

Si on choisit «Fichier ISO», un fichier ISO sera téléchargé sur l’ordinateur (que l’on pourra graver ou utiliser tel quel)
PS : Media Creation Tool propose le simple nom «Windows» pour l’image ISO. On peut le modifier.

Quel que soit le choix effectué, le téléchargement commence…

Après téléchargement, Media Creation Tool crée le support

7 — Graver le fichier ISO sur un DVD :

Si on a choisi «Fichier ISO», à la fin de la création du média Windows 10, il est proposé de graver un DVD

On peut simplement cliquer sur «Terminer» pour conserver seulement l’image ISO

What is Media Creation Tool

Windows 10 Media Creation tool has two functions:

1. Upgrade the PC which has already installed Windows 10
2. Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD) for another PC or simply download the latest Windows 10 ISO file.

Windows Update Assistant is another tool which can be used to upgrade the PC seamlessly but I prefer the media creation tool. If you want to upgrade your PC to the latest version of Windows 10, you should select the first option. And if you want to create a bootable USB/DVD, then you should select the second option.

The only problem with the Media Creation Tool is that it will try to download the Windows 10 setup every time you want to create a bootable USB/DVD. This is the default behavior.

Обзор Media Creation Tool

Media Creation Tool или MCT (Медиа креатион тул) – программное обеспечение для создания загрузочных образов операционных систем Windows 7 и выше. Microsoft разработали эту утилиту для упрощения установки разных версий их ОС.

Функционал Media Creation Tool

Утилита подходит для обновления операционной системы или ее установки с нуля. Для работы с программой нужно надежное подключение к интернету: в зависимости от задачи нужно будет скачать файлы размером от 4 до 8 ГБ.

После запуска открывается окно с минималистичным дизайном, где в формате вопрос-ответ задаются нужные настройки. Благодаря этой простой схеме, с MCT справятся даже неопытные пользователи.

В первом окне отображается лицензионное соглашение. После его принятия пользователь выбирает, какую задачу надо решить: обновить текущую версию ОС или создать чистую копию для установки с нуля.

Если выбрать первый вариант, то операционная система обновится до последней доступной версии. При желании пользователь может сменить язык интерфейса или сборку, например, перейти с Домашней на Бизнес или Про версию операционной системы.

При создании загрузочного диска же откроется новое диалоговое окно, где нужно указать необходимые параметры.

Из выпадающих списков можно выбрать язык интерфейса, версию и разрядность операционной системы. Доступна загрузка обеих архитектур – х32 и х64.

Дальше остается выбрать носитель, на котором будет записан установочный пакет:

• – USB. В большинстве случаев понадобится флешка объемом от 8 ГБ. Установочные файлы сразу загружаются на USB;
• – DVD. В этом случае предварительно создается ICO образ пакета, который сохраняется на жестком диске ПК. Его потом нужно самостоятельно записать на DVD.

После этого запускается процесс скачивания.

Плюсы использования Media Creation Tool:

1. 1. Простота. Пользователь просто выбирает параметры и запускает процесс. Все остальное делается автоматически;
2. 2. Скорость. Обычно загрузка файлов и сборка образа занимает всего 1.5-2 часа;
3. 3. Безопасность. Все файлы скачиваются с серверов Microsoft и не несут никакой угрозы для ПК.

Интерфейс утилиты переведен на русский язык. Программа доступна на Windows 7 и выше.

Последняя версия – Media Creation Tool 10.0.17763.1 – вышла в октябре 2018 года.

Создание загрузочного флеш-накопителя с Windows 10

1.  Посетите страницу Microsoft для загрузки Media Creation Tool
2.  На странице Нажмите «Скачать средство сейчас».
3.  Сохраните приложение в любой удобной вам папке.
4.  Подключите USB-накопитель к компьютеру, на котором вы сохранили приложение.
5.  Запустите приложение Media Creation Tool.
6.  Примите условия лицензионного соглашения, кнопка «Принять».

7. Выберите «Создать установочный носитель (USB-устройство флеш памяти, DVD диск или ISO файл)» и нажмите «Далее».

8. Выберите правильные настройки для вашей версии Windows 10

• Язык (страна)
• Windows 10
• 32 или 64-разрядная

9. Нажмите «Далее».

10. Выберите «USB устройство флеш памяти» и нажмите «Далее».

11. Выберите свою флешку и снова нажмите кнопку «Далее».

12. Дождитесь завершения процесса (Вы можете продолжать пользоваться компьютером).

По окончании загрузки и записи нажмите кнопку «Готово» и извлеките Флеш накопитель.

Создание ISO файла или загрузочного DVD диска с Windows 10

Если вам необходимо получить ISO файл или записать DVD диск, процесс будет следующим:

1. Посетите страницу Microsoft (ссылка в первом примере) для загрузки Media Creation Tool
2. На странице нажмите «Скачать средство сейчас».
3. Сохраните приложение в любой удобной вам папке.
4. Вставьте DVD диск для записи, на котором вы сохранили приложение.
5. Запустите приложение.
6. Примите условия лицензионного соглашения.
7. Выберите «Создать установочный носитель (USB-устройство флеш памяти, DVD диск или ISO файл)» и нажмите «Далее».
8.  Выберите правильные настройки для вашей версии Windows 10
   • Язык (страна)
   • Windows 10
   • 32 или 64-разрядная
9. Нажмите «Далее».
10. Выберите носитель, в нашем случае это «ISO файл» и нажмите «Далее»
11. Укажите место для его сохранения. Нажмите кнопку «Сохранить».
12. Дождитесь завершения процесса (Вы можете продолжать пользоваться компьютером).
13. По окончании загрузки и создания ISO файла, вам будет предложено записать DVD диск или вы можете сделать это позже, с помощью сохраненного образа системы, нажмите кнопку «Готово».

Все.

Обновление или восстановление, существующей системы с помощью Media Creation Tool.

1. Перейдите на страницу загрузки Media Creation Tool
2. На странице нажмите кнопку «Скачать средство сейчас».
3. Сохраните приложение в любой удобной вам папке.
4. Запустите приложение.
5. Примите условия лицензионного соглашения, кнопка «Принять».
6. Выберите «Обновить это устройство сейчас» и нажмите «Далее».
7. Утилита выполнит поиск последних обновлений на серверах Microsoft.
8. Media Creation Tool сохраняет ваши персональные файлы и приложения и устанавливает Windows 10 Домашняя (или Pro, в зависимости от вашей старой системы). Выполняется обновление компьютера, никакие данные не стираются.
9. Нажмите кнопку «Установить».
10. Приложение установит файлы и автоматически перезагрузит компьютер. После перезагрузки инициализируется процесс настройки операционной системы.

Как скачать Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

• Бесплатное обновление для пользователей Windows 7 SP1 и 8.1

Способ 1 — с помощью Центра обновления Windows

С 17 октября начнется основной этап доставки новой версии, когда осеннее обновление станет доступно через Центр обновления Windows. Поэтому компьютеры с установленной ОС Windows 10 могут получить его в автоматическом режиме.

Это означает, что никакие действия от пользователя не требуются. Файлы обновления будут загружаться через Центр обновления Windows, а установка пройдет при последующей перезагрузке.

Это очень удобное решение — пользователю не нужно выполнять никаких дополнительных операций. Однако, есть недостаток — Microsoft сообщает, что обновление будет выпускаться в несколько этапов, поэтому его развертывание может занять некоторое время. В зависимости от вашей удачливости, вы сможете получить обновление раньше или позже, но с Центром обновления невозможно это изменить.

Windows 10 Installation Media Tool

To download the Windows 10 Installation Media Tool, visit Microsoft.com and scroll down till you see two purple Download Tool Now buttons.

The Windows Media Creation Tool will allow you to download the Windows 10 ISO directly from Microsoft, without having a product key. You can use it to clean install or Upgrade to Windows 10. It can be used to download the following editions of Windows 10 – Windows 10 Home, Windows 10 Home N, Windows 10 Home Single Language, Windows 10 Pro and  Windows Pro N.

The tool includes file formats optimized for download speed, built-in media creation options for USB & DVDs, and allows for optional conversion to ISO file format. There are two versions of the tool available – a 32-bit version and a 64-bit version. Download the appropriate version of the tool and run it.

When you run the tool, it creates two directories on your system partition – $WINDOWS.~BT and $Windows.~WS. These folders contain the downloaded setup and installation files, and an option to resume the creation process if it fails.

When you click on it to run the tool, you will see the following screen asking you if you want to Upgrade this PC now or Create installation media for another PC.

If you click on Create installation media for another PC, you will see a screen asking you to choose the media to use. You may use a USB Flash Drive which is at least 3 GB, or you can create an ISO file, which you can burn to a DVD later if you wish. I chose to create an ISO file.

In any case, once you click on Next, the downloading of Windows 10 will start.

The tool will then soon automatically start creating Windows 10 media.

Once the ISO file is ready, you will see two options. One is to open the location where the ISO file has been saved and the other to Open a DVD Burner software to burn the ISO to disc.

I chose to open the ISO folder and run the setup file inside it to perform an in-place upgrade of my Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

The upgrade process went smoothly, except for one thing…

Something happened when installing Windows 10

I received a Something Happened error screen. I closed the screen and restarted the setup. It worked, and I was able to smoothly upgrade Windows 8.1 to Windows 10.

If on the other hand, you select Upgrade This PC in the first screen, as mentioned above, and click on Next, you will see the following screen.

Select your Language, architecture, and edition and click Next. The upgrade process will begin directly.

How to use Media Creation Tool

Let’s go through the process of upgrading from Windows 10 Version 1809 to Version 1903 using Windows 10 Media Creation Tool 1903.

2- Running the setup

Once downloaded, run the file MediaCreationTool1903.exe. This will open a new window which will take some time “Getting a few things ready”.

You will need to accept the license terms from Microsoft.

3- Choose your option

After accepting the license terms, you will be presented with two options:

1. Upgrade this PC now
2. Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC

The upgrade option is checked by default. If you want to upgrade your Windows 10 to the latest version, then you should select this option.

Once you press the Next button while selecting the first option, you will be taken to a new screen which will show you the progress of Windows 10 download from Microsoft servers.

4- Upgrading PC

Once the download is complete, the setup will ask you whether you want to download the latest security updates and install them along with the feature update. You can download the updates now or leave it for later as Windows will automatically download them after installation.

When asked, please select Keep personal files and apps. This makes sure that your files and applications remain safe.

5- Install Windows 10 Version 1903

Once you hit the Next button, Windows 10 Version 1903 will start installing. once the installation is complete, you will be required to restart the system. If everything goes well, you will login to the updated version of Windows 10. Otherwise, if the setup fails for any reason, you will be reverted to the version of Windows which was installed before upgrading.

6- Create installation media

In step no. 3, if you selected the second option then you will be greeted with a similar screen but you will need to select Windows 10 language, edition, and architecture.

Next, you will have two options:

1. USB flash drive
2. ISO file

Choose which media to use

If you want to directly create a bootable USB drive, then select the first option. You will need USB/DVD storage of at least 8 GB.

If you want to download the ISO file, then select the second option. You can create a bootable USB drive from the ISO using Rufus.

Pressing the Next button will start the download process.
